What is the LWML you might ask?
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
Our mission statement is:
As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions and equip women to honor God by servings others.
Our Motto is:
Serve the Lord with gladness (Psalm 100.2)
We usually meet monthly on the first Saturday of each month at 10:30 am in the fellowship hall.
First, I want to sincerely, from the bottom of my heart “Thank” everyone who made the celebration of Trinity’s 50 years in Cedar City, UT party to beat all parties.
The LWML has several events coming up. Stacie Hehn will be attending the PSWD Zone Fall Celebration at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Kingman, AZ. At this event the Zone will be supporting our Veterans with items needed for the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Center in Kingman. If any would like to contribute all items need to be at church by Sunday, Oct. 11th. Here are the items requested:
Coffee, coffee pods, Little Debbie type snacks individually wrapped, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, unscented laundry soap, toilet cleaner.
Larger items new items please: Shower curtain sets, bath rugs, cookware sets, coffee mugs, flatware, queen size light bedding sets, queen sheets, underwear and T-shirts in various sizes, main focus on men.
October is LWML, Pastor and Volunteer awareness month in the Lutheran church. Please “Thank” a volunteer for keeping our church going. (Coffee, kitchen help, yard care, general maintenance, hauling our trash cans in and out, etc. etc. etc.) Most all the upkeep is done by volunteers, here at Trinity.
Trinity Food Pantry
Most are aware that we have a small food pantry right here at Trinity! In the last few weeks it has been almost depleted. What a blessing we have it and are able to help those in need.
If anyone knows someone with food insecurities, or just someone who needs a small amount of help, please feel free to access the pantry. There are plastic shopping bags available in the closet as well. This is just a small pantry and not meant for daily shopping, but a stop gap to get someone through a rough day.
Donations are accepted in the basket as you walk into the church. Please, remember NO EXPIRED FOODS, & NO GLASS containers. We would like to keep the pantry stocked with “convenience foods” which are shelf stable.
Examples are:
Shelf stable Milk- individual sizes
Cup of Noodles
Individual cups -spaghetti o’s- rice- a -roni- cereal, mashed potatoes, etc.
Fruit cups
Canned meats- chicken – roast-tuna
Cereal

Get ready for the fall and holiday season. The LWML, sponsor Samaritan Purse-Operation Christmas Child. The table will be set up mid-October. We will also support Youth Futures with Christmas gifts as well as East Elementary school with warm mittens and hats. More information on these events will be in the November newsletter.
I know it seems like I’m skipping over Reformation, Oct. 25th All Saints Day, Nov 1st, New members and Advent (starting Nov. 29th) but I’m not. These dates and more will be on the calendar and weekly bulletins.
