The LWML ladies have a new mission project.  I love it. It sounds exciting and exactly what Lutheran Women in Mission means.  We are starting a card ministry.  I’m not going to give much information on this, hopefully one or more of you will be surprised by this mission. 

Ladies who would like to contribute greeting cards toward this mission, a clear plastic box has been placed on the file cabinet adjacent to the photocopier, or you can give them to me. 

As we are getting ready for fall and the holiday season we will be starting our Samaritan Purse shoe box project.  A display and the shoe boxes will be in the church by the end of September.  Dwayne and I were privileged to attend a workshop on this project and were totally amazed and impressed by the spiritual work this organization does.  Lets try and fill 45 boxes. 

October is Volunteer and Pastor recognition month.  With no Pastor, please remember our Elders are volunteers also.  A special service and cake will be provided on Sunday, October 5th. 

The annual Fall Celebration will be at Lamb of God Lutheran Church on Jones Blvd. in Las Vegas.  The celebration is Oct. 18th, @ 9 am -1:30 pm, with a cost of $8.00 per participate.  A flyer is up on the LWML bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.  If you’re not planning on attending there is a box in the fellowship hall for your donation to HELP of So. Nevada.  Please be generous, they are looking for new socks, underwear, gloves, mittens and blankets.  Thank you in advance.
